What’s always surprising and cool to me is how, like, if you were to draw a Venn Diagram of Jonas Brothers fans and Tokio Hotel fans, that intersection of Tokio-Jonas fans (Jonio? Tokas?) is actually wider than it originally seemed back before that unofficial ceasefire was called. And, you know, the fact that both bands were nominated for the Worst Band Award at the Shockwaves NME Awards at least means that the guys have one more thing in common, besides die-hard, fantastic fans. Huzzah for diversified musical tastes, I say. (This from the girl with The Clipse and Taylor Swift on the same iPod.)
Anyway, just in case you’re all Team Tokio all the way and need a little break from Unofficial Jonas Week (they DO have a 3D movie AND a new album out this week, so you do understand, right?), let’s take a look at WTF Tokio Hotel’s been up to recently amidst all the Jonas mania.
+ The guys are STILL putting the finishing touches on their still-delayed next album. Still. As in, still. But apparently the new album will feature 12 new songs, down from 20, which were all recorded between Los Angeles and Germany.
+ Bill and Tom got new Audis! Tom got a grey Audi R8, and Bill’s sitting behind the wheel of a white Audi Q7. Yay!
+ The Ohio State University cheerleading team used “Ready Set Go” in a cheer routine. (And did you hear We The Kings in there too?) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Tokio! (And Bucks — that’s my home state! Whut!?)
+ But perhaps most astonishing: As of January 2009, Tokio Hotel’s “Monsoon” video was the 38th most-watched video on YouTube EVER. Like MORE WATCHED than Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” (As of this post, “Monsoon” has 31.8 million views and “Thriller” has jumped to 33.3, causing me to believe that MJ is sitting in a cave somewhere, furiously clicking away. God knows he can’t afford to pay people to do it for him.) But MAN do you guys have a lot of time on your hands! Therefore… Might as well watch it again… On MTV.com! ; ) (You know, help me keep my job and stuff!)
Bye guys! <3

Yes, it's finished...Tokio Hotel's GRAND MOSAIC!!! Click HERE to check out the wicked Mosaic pictures that we created with the thousands and thousands of pictures you guys submitted. Check the result HERE!
Wow – we are totally impressed!!!
You guys submitted thousands and thousands of really awesome pictures of yourselves and now we're proud to present YOUR Tokio Hotel Mosaic poster. Since we received so many pics, we had to create two different versions. In one we used all the photos with a horizontal photo format and in the second, we used all the photos with a vertical format.
If you submitted a picture, simply enter your email address below in our MosaicCalculator to find out where in this huge poster you can find yourself. Unfortunately, we had a problem with using a tiny fraction of the photos that were submitted (we could not open them). We apologize if you're not included even though you submitted a photo of yourself.
Have fun finding yourself and checking out all the other fan pictures.
Bill, Tom, Gustav + Georg also wanted to shout out a gigantic THANK YOU for all your wicked submissons.
Take care and ROCK ON!
Note: My picture is there too, in the 1st Mosaic (horizontal fan-pics)!

New album, new sport-carts!
2009 should be the year for Tokio Hotel. BRAVO knows their plans...
It has become very quietly about Tokio Hotel. Barely performances in the last few months, no new songs, no TV shows! Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg have themselves completely withdrawn. But behind the scenes, the four guys prepare together with their producer-team, the big blow - because 2009 will be their year! Und because of this, they give full throttle. The new album of our super-band is almost ready: "At the moment, we hope the work on the album will be finished within the next six weeks," said TH-Producer David Jost in the BRAVO interview. "But the reales won't be before the late spring."
By the way, this time, Tokio Hotel want to conquer the whole world at the same time: the CD should appear to the world simultaneously. For us of course in German. In the U.S. and anywhere, where you do not understand our language, in English.
The guys recorded this time on an very special way: "As a complement to our recording studio in Hamburg, we have just build a second one in Los Angeles," says Jost. Well, normally there should be only the endmixes produced. But Bill and Tom had not yet enough. "Last week, they've wrote two new songs," says David Jost. The two have in their new apartment in Berlin their own home studio. "There they have by their own recorded demo versions of the songs."
After all the travel stress for the past three years, Bill and Tom weren't up for no longer on a long flight to Los Angeles (takes about nine hours). "They are happy about every day, they are at home in Germany," says Jost. Therefore, the modern technique have to pay for it: "We've revised together those two songs in an three our conference session," said David Jost to BRAVO. "The next day, Bill was then in our studio in Hamburg in front of the microphone, and we've recorded him from Los Angeles via ISDN." Approximately 20 new songs are already finished - but only twelve will be on the CD.
But also privately, the TH-boys accelerate. Because silent and secretly, Bill and Tom purchased two real hot cars: Tom a gray Audi R8 (approximately 114,000 euros). A stylish sports car, which can drive about 301 km/h. Bill is satisfied with his first car with a comfortable 250 km/h - so fast drives his snow-white Audi Q7 (about 70,000 euros). The TH-Hotel-Twins doesn't pay the full price: "Celebrities get at Audi a VIP bonus - they pay only about 70 percent of the price," says an insider. These two mega-cars belong now to the TH-boys for two years.
Well, now it can start - in an exciting year!
Have a nice day! <3

Expected by the end of May it is for Tokio Hotel fans finally so far.
The long-awaited third album of the four Magdeburger appears. EXPRESS shows how a TH song is - once around the globe.
In the last three years, celebrated Bill and Tom Kaulitz (both 19), Georg Listing (21) and Gustav Schäfer (20) global giant success (reported EXPRESS>). Three years in which they are almost exclusively from suitcases lived. Sure, they're also on the current album production reluctant to leave the house.
Did they also (almost) never. Because the songs for the new album while surrounded the whole world, the boys could still remain in Germany. And so does the whole thing:
In their Berlin apartment, the Kaulitz twins in self-directed demo versions of their songs. In the capital, the two have a small home studio. The images sent them via an Internet data transfer to the United States. According to Los Angeles.
There, on the other end of the world, Tokio Hotel, opened a few days ago, a private recording studio. David Jost, manager and producer in a personal union, received together with his partners, Dave Roth and Pat Benzner the files. Of course not everything was perfect. About the chat program "Skype", the three producers launched a three videoconference with Bill and Tom in Berlin. Jost: "We have the songs together revised composition."
The next day, but then Bill had to leave the house. After Hamburg, in the "studio master" of Tokio Hotel. He sang the song again, with the already revised in LA music. From California he was via ISDN line up, his vocal pieces directly on a computer. "We never thought that this possibility of the album production really would use," explains Jost. Whether it has been worth it?

The members of Tokio Hotel decided to surprise their fans including new instruments in the musics of their new album.
Without putting on the side the drums and the electric guitar, the members of Tokio Hotel decided to surprise their fans including new instruments, as the violin, in their musics of a new album.
"Yes, I learn to play violin at the school. It's nothing that I would choose, it was a obligation in our music course. I thouhght that I could play the violin in some parts of a sad song that I wrote. But, of course, I'll still singing", commented the vocalist Bill Kaulitz in a television interview.
"We didn't choose the single yet, but I can't see myself playing a violin in the middle of a videoclip or at the stage. At the song, I recorded that part, but at the stage we have a orchestra which will accompain us. Ah the fans don't need to worry, we will just have a orchestra in this music", added to calme his fans that like more the strong music..
Although they didn't revealed the name of the album yet, it may be released in the next Spring.
I thought this week we would change things up a little bit. Here is the first International In the Shadows article. There are more to come, but people always seem to be remembering the first the fondest, even if you aren't multi-lingual.
Right out of the gates we have some of the heavier hitters from overseas, as Germany, New Zealand, Japan and Malaysia are all represented by some fantastic bands.
4LYN and the soon to be your favorite band Tokio Hotel hit US shores straight from Germany, Pop Shuvit want you to notice them coming straight out of Kuala Lumpur and Girugamesh grinds all the way from Japan. Even the now defunct Blindspott provides some good New Zealand flavor.
Enjoy my friends, and you don't even have to travel to find these bands, or learn their native tongue.
5.) Tokio Hotel - Emo/Pop
Hail from: Germany
Label: Universal/Interscope
Sounds like: Hawthorne Heights, The Rasmus, Senses Fail
You should be listening to: 'Scream'
LISTEN TO THEM
I Should Care Why?
The boys in Tokio Hotel are the primed to be the next big overseas band to come to the States and hit it big. They are already backed by some heavy hitters in the business in labels Interscope and Universal, not to mention Hot Topic is also championing them. Their music knows no borders, and their goth/glam take on powerpop might just be the injection of life that the oft-maligned genre needs. Sure emo is full of young teenage bands, but it isn't full of much quality. Tokio Hotel might be what we need.

- On February 7th, David Jost was attending a pre-Grammy party hosted by Primary Wave Music Publishing at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, California. In the pictures above, he is with Lauren Christy, Graham Edwards and Meagan Phistan. Lauren Christy and Graham Edwards are two producers and writers from "The Matrix" (record company) that are working with the boys on their new album.
Martin: Tokio Hotel has been writing and recording their new album in both Germany and here in L.A. Getting closer to the finish line! (10th February)
Martin: Oh man. This new Tokio Hotel album is gonna be awesome. Wait until you hear it!! Wowowowow. (12th February)

From the small-screen actor to the mega movie-stars to the pop singers, our top five guys may not always be perfect, but they're guaranteed heartthrobs — and there is probably at least one that is well-suited for you!

Bill Kaulitz - Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz may be an acquired taste, but the German definitely stands out in a crowd. Kaulitz has garnered equal amounts of criticism and unabashed devotion for his androgynous look and spiked hair. Regardless of style, the guy's a winner — Tokio Hotel's emo music and rabid fanbase helped them win Best New Artist at the VMAs last year. TH are currently in the studio working on the follow-up to Scream. Oh, and here's a tip, girls — he loves candy, so stock up on conversation hearts and get ready to ride off into the sunset in his monster truck.

Hamburg (ap) The new album by “Tokio Hotel” is expected to be on the market at the end of May or the beginning of June. “If Bill doesn`t come with more song ideas, then we`ll finish the album-production hopefully in the next six weeks”, producer David Jost said to the news-agency AP. Actually the song-writing was finished:”But now Bill and Tom have written two new songs last week”.
Singer Bill Kaulitz and his twin-brother Tom have recorded their own demos of the songs in their little home-studio in their apartement in Berlin and sent them then to Los Angeles, where the album is mixed at present.
“As the band traveled so much in the last three years and lived out of a suitcase, they are happy about every day, they can spend at home in Germany”, the manager of the Kaulitz-brothers said, who became famous with the song “Durch den Monsun” and rank now at one of the most successful German rockbands.
So the songs were reworked in a three hour video-conference, and Bill have sung them in a studio in Hamburg. Via ISDN they were recorded then in Los Angeles, Jost explained.
And tomorrow it's the first anniversary of this page, so I have a few things prepared for you all..don't forget to stay tunned in!
See ya guys! <3

Fräulein Wunder were in late January / early February on tour with the Finns The Rasmus as their support Act in Germany.
At their last Concert in Frankfurt on the 3rd of February the four girls and The Rasmus-bassist Eero played a cover version of the first Tokio Hotel hit "Durch den Monsun".
Curious that the The-Rasmus-musicians chose to help them, to play a Tokio Hotel Cover. Not long ago, the The Rasmus singer Lauri said in a video interview: "I do not know much about Tokio Hotel. But what I know is that in their song "Spring nicht" they stole a riff from our Song "Not Like the other Girls"".

We met brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz, along with Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing, of Tokio Hotel so that we could get their secrets about touring life.
Hello, guys! Can you tell us what happens during a typical day on road?
Bill: We wake up in the tour bus at about seven o’clock in the morning. Once we get to the hotel, I immediately go to my room and have breakfast. I take a good shower and I change. Then, we all go to the venue to do sound tests and give interviews. After the concert, we go back to the hotel, we repack our bags and we return to the bus, going to another town.
Is it difficult to sleep on the bus?
Georg: Yes, because we have to turn off the air conditioning so we don’t hurt Bill’s voice. It gets very hot inside.
Do any of you snore?
B: Nobody… maybe Gustav.
Do you have a ritual before concerts?
B: We all meet in a room, a half-hour before we have to go on stage. We are very nervous.
What’s the best way for one of your fans to get your attention during a concert?
Tom: I really like when they have big signs with cool phrases on them.
What’s the funniest thing you’ve read on a sign?
B: I’ve received a marriage proposal. There was also a fan, in Chicago, who asked Tom to sign an autograph saying: “For the girl of my dreams.” She said to him: “You don’t know it yet, but I’m the girl of your dreams.” It was very funny.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
B: I think it’s the first concert I’ve ever seen, of Nena, a German singer. It was the best concert I’ve ever seen!
T: For Georg, it has to be David Hasselhoff! (laughs)
GE: Maybe. Some of his concerts are really good. I like his dancing more than his singing though.
Are you really fans of David Hasselhoff?
GE: Yes!
T: Not us, but Georg really is.
Have you had the chance to meet him?
GE: Not yet.
T: We hope the occasion will come.
And your favourite concert, Gustav?
Gustav: I’d say Metallica’s concert, in 2006. The band played all of their old songs and their newer ones. It was great!
Have you ever had fans from here try to write German words on their signs?
B: Yes and, sometimes, they speak it. There are some who sing Monsoon in German, during the concerts. It’s really cool!
Do you cover any songs during your concerts?
B: No, we always play our own music, ever since we started. I wrote the lyrics, and Tom accompanied me on the guitar.
Would you like to record a song with another artist?
T: Right now we’re concentrating on our next German album, which we’ll also record in English. We might include a few artists, but nothing is confirmed yet.
If you could choose anyone, who would it be?
B: It would be a dream to do a tour with the Rolling Stones.
T: For me, it would be Aerosmith.
How do you get your energy on tour?
B: We always sleep or watch DVDs… Energy drinks help us, too!
How do you decide what you’ll wear during a concert?
B: I always have 10 bags of clothes with me, so it’s really hard for me to choose. But usually I take what’s on top, so I always wear the same clothes.
GE: Then, the week after, he turns his bag over and takes what’s on top.
What do you miss most from home?
T: My bed.
GE: Toilet paper!
They don’t give you toilet paper?
All: Yes, they do!
Georg: But it’s not the same.
Tom: In Germany, the toilet paper is very soft. But in America, you have only one layer of thickness while, where we live, we have 10 or 20. It’s impossible to find here!
“Without a doubt we know that other groups will also come in first place,” says Tom. Or do you fear the end? Bill responds: “No, we would support it! We left everything for Tokio Hotel and going back to our old like would be difficult. To be honest, we still have a lot to give.” That’s why you’re working on your third CD. “We include something with violins, you guys will be surprised,” added Tom.
Hope you enjoy the updates! .gif)

Being rather seclusive for awhile, the 4 prodigies from Magdeburg are holed up in a studio to finish their third album. This precious jewel is expected to come out next spring. Between two takes, Bill offers his insights on the situation.
You have not been around, lately.
Yes, we were in studio to record our third album. It was a very intense and creative period but at the same time, it offered a much needed break for the band. We were able to come together, far away from our usual hectic life. In the studio, each one of us was alone with his thoughts and doubts. The moment that we’re away from the spotlight is essential for a band. We’ve returned to the things that really matter.
In what kind of state of mind did you approach the new recording?
There are a lot of new influences that until now, have not been heard in the sound of Tokio Hotel. Even so, we’ve kept the same crew. Our new album will probably surprise a lot of people and I hope the fans will love it.
How did you work?
The lyrics and music is the result of our lives since the success of the band. They handle about our mood, new thoughts and reflections, and also new wishes and hopes. I’ve started writing some new lyrics in the summer of 2007. Many lyrics were finished while we were on the road, doing tours and just traveling around. There’s one lyric that goes specifically about my home sickness during our tour in the States and goes about all the things I’ve missed. That’s why the album will be in German although there will be an English version also.
How does a song gets created precisely?
In the beginning, it’s just loose thoughts and scattered ideas. Then, the music gets more defined, sometimes even without really realizing it. The moment that the chorus is set, the song really starts to take shape. At that moment, it has to get recorded. A song is too fragile to let it slip away.
Do you have many discussions (within the band) before you start recording?
Yes, the moment we’re ready to start recording, things become difficult. We have a song but there are many different ways to interpret the song. And we have to find the best interpretation. We, then start to experiment with each song by changing the guitar-sounds or modifying my voice. And yes, that can easily lead to huge discussions. And what worries me a bit is the fact that I’m a huge perfectionist, bordering on the obsessive. Luckily, my other three friends don’t have the same character (laughs).
Do you feel pressured by your fans?
We try to escape the pressure by making sure we can travel peacefully. But the greatest pressure comes from ourselves. Of course, the reaction of the fans is very important also because we do not want to disappoint them. But we don’t want to let ourselves down either. We do listen to other advice but the final decision is always taken by us. It’s something between the four of us.
Recently, the celebrity blogger Perez Hilton wrote that your concerts were playback shows. What’s your comment on that?
It’s not the first time that I hear such bull about Tokio Hotel, or some other bands. We’re in the heat of things and our success elicits jealousy. And those kind of mediaflashs are part of the game. It’s a deceitful attack since the famous Perez Hilton has no proof to substantiate his accusations. Like our manager David Jost said, “The best way to form an opinion is to come to our shows and watch us play.” And we really, really rock!
Will 2009 be the year of the triumphant return of Tokio Hotel? Scheduled for the end of the month of April (a single should be available in March), the release of their new studio album will no doubt be decisive for the future of the four Germans. Large numbers of their original fans have already jumped ship after the band’s long adventure in the United States, lived like a true betrayal. Will Bill and his band regain the ears of those who felt rejected and who turned their backs? Not sure, especially since we know the album will be available at the same time in its English version for Anglo-Saxon countries, which risks disappointment another time for certain fans…. Be that as it may, Tokio Hotel have to release an album that will put everyone in agreement and will confirm they really are in it for the long run. It would be useless to say that the pressure is enormous…
These were just two of the things I wanted to leave here for you, the other will follow next!
Have a nice day! <3
